Todd M. Husty, D.O., FACEP

Todd M. Husty, D.O., FACEP MARSI’s President and majority owner.
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Husty is the lead physician overseeing medical record review, physician education, and daily operations of MARSI. Dr. Husty has been performing clinical record reviews since 1982 and has been providing physician documentation improvement training since 1987.

Considered an expert in documentation for DRG’s, APC’s, Emergency Medicine, Inpatient vs. Observation, and Risk Adjustment Dr. Husty has served on and has been the Medical Director of multiple hospital committees including Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Medical Executive, Utilization Review, and Health Information, and has also served as Chairman of Departments of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Husty has served as the Medical Director/Physician Advisor of Utilization Review for many hospitals in Florida, California, Wyoming, New Mexico and West Virginia. Dr. Husty is a nationally known speaker for AAPC and AHIMA.

An associate professor and clinical preceptor for the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine, Dr. Husty’s area of special interest is the direct correlation between the quality of documentation with the quality of care and reimbursement systems that promote both, such as Risk Adjustment.

 


Marsha S. Diamond, CPC, COC, CCS, CPMA, AAPC Fellow

Manager, Outpatient Facility/Physician Services, Curriculum Training and Development
For over 30 years Marsha has been involved in medical coding, compliance, billing, healthcare reimbursement, education and management fields. Marsha’s experience encompasses academic medicine, hospital, hospital-based physicians, physicians and facility coding.

As a CPC, COC, and CSS she lends her expertise to seasoned pros and novices alike. She is the author of numerous coding textbooks including Mastering Medical Coding, Code Compass, Understanding Hospital Coding and Billing and the Coders Resource Handbook. Over the years Marsha’s articles have been published in coding and compliance publications and newsletters.

Marsha is the Program Director/ Instructor of Coding and Health Information at Central Florida College in Orlando, Florida.

She is a well respected speaker/workshop presenter at National conferences including AAPC and MGMA. In addition, she is often requested to speak at State AHIMA conferences, physician groups, and coding organizations such as the Coding Institute and Ingenix. She is also a past AAPC National Advisory Board member. She is a past President of the Orlando Chapter of Ingenix where she currently serves as Advisory Board member.


Grant VanDyke, RN, CCS, CPUR

Director of Operations
Grant is a registered nurse with over 20 years of hospital based coding and compliance experience. She completed her nursing degree while working full time as an Inpatient Coder/Utilization Reviewer in a 120 bed hospital. She worked several years as a clinical primary nurse before specializing in hospice care. She returned to the hospital setting as a Case Manager and was promoted to Director of Health Information Management/Case Management for a large hospital chain in 2002.

She has extensive knowledge of in inpatient and outpatient coding, case management, utilization review, revenue cycle management, Medicare/Medicaid hospital billing, compliance regulations, core measures, HIPAA compliance and RAC initiatives. Grant holds certifications as an RN, CSS and CPUR. Grant has been recognized twice as manager of the Quarter and went on to be named Director of the Year in 2005 at a Florida Hospital. Grant assists with regulatory compliance support, case management, clinical documentation education, and supervision of MARSI’s coding and review operations.


Laura Goodman, CPC, CHCCS-E, CRC

HCC Manager
Laura has been involved in Medicare Risk Adjustment coding for over 9 years. She has worked in both the coding and auditing aspects of HCC and HHS HCC Risk Adjustment. Laura has been involved in all aspects of MARSI’s Risk Adjustment/HCC department including education, training, project management, and development of the HCC department. Laura has extensive knowledge of ICD-10 coding along with coding guidelines and Coding Clinic.

Laura is a Certified HCC Specialist – Expert (CHCCS-E) through PAHCS. She received her certification training through MARSI’s HCC training course. Laura is also a CPC and a CRC through the AAPC.
